“Learning to Shine on Camera”
NEXT CLASS BEGINS: FEBRUARY 18, 2012
Have you considered a career as an actor but don't want to spend a fortune finding out if it's for you?
Are friends and family telling you that you have talent... but you aren't sure if you have what it takes? Do you want a comfortable professional environment in which to work and have fun? There are 3 simple things you need to do to find out. 1) Learn from the best.
2) Be where the jobs are. 3) Learn the profession as well as the craft.
Lewis Baumander, one of Canada’s top acting coaches and Casting Central, Toronto’s largest and busiest casting facility, are opening the doors to the film and t.v. industry in Canada where the professionals make their decisions.
This is not a generic acting class. It will introduce you to breaking down a script and how to audition for a part. The focus is on the skills and techniques that directors and casting directors look for in professional actors. This is a 5 week program of 4 acting classes and 1 career counseling session that will give you an honest answer without trying to sell you a bill of goods.
The course breaks down as follows:
Class 1 will feature an introduction and overview of what it takes to make it, from acting technique to getting an agent.
Call 416 921 1489 or use the ENROLL NOW button below to register.
No experience required. Curiosity and courage are a necessity!

“Shine 2: Scene Study and Audition Preparation"
NEXT CLASS BEGINS: FEBRUARY 18, 2012
Take your “Shine” skills to the next level with our “Shine on Camera 2” class. This is another five session course taking place over five weeks. The first two classes will build on the “box game” and “AB scene” drills from Shine 1, at first separately and then in combination.
Class 3 will concentrate on monologues. During Class 4 scenes will be handed out and cold read. For Class 5 students will bring back the same sides memorized for deeper scene work. “Shine 2” will work with the building blocks of character, bringing these to the monologue and scene study. Emphasis will be placed on breathing, relaxing, free association, and bringing personal thought and experience into play with a script. Of course, there will be extra emphasis on the play!

He encourages and shows his students how to shed the 'acting techniques', formulas and bad habits they may have acquired and gives his students the freedom to just be. A fresh start, free of judgement and open for opportunity. I have learned and become so much more comfortable and confident in my work, because Lewis has encouraged me to search for the truth in each character. To think, breathe, and create the reality of a human being that is not yourself, through yourself. Lewis is an incredible coach and extraordinary person, my experience working with him has been wonderful. Thank You Lewis!" - Nina Dobrev (Chloe, Degrassi: The Next Generation, The Vampire Diaries)
"A psychology-oriented approach to acting. Lewis has
extraordinary insight into the shift in modern acting techniques, and
teaches practical methods of performing that are looked for by directors
and casting directors of today. Furthermore, his teachings will have
you analyzing your daily interactions in an entirely different way." - Shane Kippel (Degrassi: The Next Generation, Life With Derek, DogPound) |
